The Portland area is a paradise for active adventurers.  It offers an array of water sports including sailing, diving, fishing, windsurfing, kayaking, kite surfing and coasteering.  If you prefer staying on dry land, there are plenty of walking trails, rock-climbing locations, cycling routes, bird-watching spots and horse-riding opportunities.
